History of the Outhouse Races- In 1983 Winter Carnival Committee wanted to organize a unique activity that would add fun and craziness to a long winter, sponsored the 1st annual outhouse race. 2010 was the 27th year of this event and the popularity has not wavered. The competition is still as fierce as the Super Bowl, with teams returning each year to capture the title or in some case recapture bragging rights as the champs. The teams consist of five people, 2 pulling and 2 pushing the homemade outhouse with the person of honor sitting on the thrown. Each team and outhouse is totally unique ready for competition, and a day of fun. New teams are always welcomed. For more information and registration please contact Duffy’s Tavern at 518-668-5323.
